Ripple expands its GSmart platform with AI-driven enterprise finance tools for forecasting, liquidity, risk, and compliance while maintaining human oversight and organizational controls.

Ripple is broadening its GSmart platform to equip enterprise finance teams with AI capabilities spanning forecasting, liquidity assessment, risk management, reconciliation, and reporting. The expansion maintains existing financial controls and audit requirements while introducing AI-driven insights to treasury operations already in use by Ripple's customers. A key architectural choice separates deterministic financial calculations from AI interpretation, allowing AI agents to recommend actions with cited policy justification while preserving human approval authority over execution.
The deployment addresses a governance gap in the broader AI industry. According to research cited by Ripple, only 13 percent of organizations believe they have adequate governance frameworks for AI agents, even as major firms prepare to deploy over 150,000 agents within two years. Ripple's approach uses Knowledge Studio as a policy layer where treasury teams define organizational controls, and Analytics Studio integrates reporting through a query interface.
The integration of autonomous agents into finance also carries implications for crypto adoption. Binance founder Changpeng Zhao has suggested that AI agents may drive blockchain use since such systems can interface with decentralized networks via APIs without the friction imposed by traditional financial authentication systems, positioning cryptocurrency as a native settlement layer for agent-based transactions and payments.
