Tether Capital backs AI agent payment startup AIsa
AI & Agents ·
Tether's independent investment arm has put money into AIsa, a platform that lets autonomous AI agents pay for the tools and data they use.
Tether Capital has made a strategic investment in AIsa, according to a report, though the size of the funding has not been disclosed. AIsa builds infrastructure that lets AI agents handle their own purchasing of digital resources, rather than relying on humans to manage subscriptions and billing on their behalf.
The platform works by giving developers one access point into a large catalog of digital services. Agents can draw on more than 5,000 APIs, skills, and models through a single key, with each use billed individually rather than through a flat subscription. Payments can clear in either stablecoins or conventional currency, and companies can cap how much their agents are allowed to spend.
The need for this kind of system stems from how AI agents are increasingly being used to run entire workflows on their own, a shift that exposes gaps in payment and subscription tools built for human operators rather than software that acts independently. AIsa's per-transaction billing model is positioned as a fix for that friction, letting agents pull in exactly the resources a task requires and settle the cost automatically.
AIsa says its network already has meaningful scale: more than 250,000 agents are deployed on the platform, and it has processed over 100 million transactions to date. Those figures suggest the agent-payments concept is being tested in live use rather than remaining theoretical.
The deal has been noted across at least two separate sources covering the cluster, pointing to some outside confirmation of Tether Capital's involvement, though neither the investment amount nor AIsa's post-funding valuation has been made public. It also remains unclear how AIsa's stablecoin settlement rails connect, if at all, to Tether's own token infrastructure, and what further product or partnership details may follow as the investment is integrated.
