3Jane and Cred Protocol launch onchain credit scores that enable reputation collateralization for enhanced DeFi yield opportunities.
DeFi & Yields ·
3Jane and Cred Protocol have launched onchain credit scores designed to allow users to collateralize their reputation for enhanced yield opportunities within DeFi. The integration went live in October 2026, beginning with undercollateralized promises on 3Jane's Levered Callable Capital (LCC) primitive, which permits users to pledge up to 13x their staked margin while earning approximately 20% APY.
Credit scores, traditionally used to assess loan repayment likelihood, are being repurposed to evaluate whether participants will provide capital when called upon in undercollateralized contexts. Cred Protocol computes scores between 300 and 1,000 by analyzing public onchain activity including lending history, repayments, liquidations, liquidity provision, staking, and wallet age across multiple blockchains, requiring no KYC. Higher scores on 3Jane unlock benefits such as up to 5x greater promise APY, higher promise leverage, and increased $JANE emissions.
The mechanism creates a feedback loop where users who successfully fund capital calls improve their credit score, generating better terms on future commitments. Previous onchain credit scoring systems lacked integration with a functioning DeFi protocol capable of scalably rewarding higher scores with yield. Whether this approach sufficiently mitigates counterparty risk inherent to undercollateralized commitments remains to be tested at scale.
