BNY Mellon expanding its digital asset custody platform to include crypto staking services.

BNY announced a partnership with Galaxy to integrate staking capabilities into its digital asset custody platform, enabling institutional clients to earn staking rewards while keeping assets within BNY's custody pending regulatory approval. Galaxy will supply the staking infrastructure and serve as a design partner as BNY expands its blockchain services. The move follows BNY's launch of crypto custody in 2022 and reflects the bank's broader strategy to broaden institutional blockchain offerings, including recent plans for around-the-clock settlement of tokenized U.S. Treasuries in 2027.
