Bybit discontinuing HFT token as collateral and lending asset.
DeFi & Yields ·
Bybit is removing HFT token support from its collateral and lending services effective September 7, 2026. The exchange will halt all borrowing and lending operations involving HFT on September 4, beginning a phased wind-down. By September 7, HFT will no longer qualify as collateral across margin borrowing, crypto loans, and institutional lending products, and existing HFT-denominated liabilities must be fully settled before that date or face automatic liquidation and potential losses.
The timeline creates operational risk for users holding HFT-backed positions. Those with outstanding HFT loans face mandatory repayment by the September 7 deadline; failure to comply triggers forced repayment that may result in asset forfeiture. The exchange advises users to monitor margin maintenance ratios and loan-to-value thresholds to prevent liquidation during the transition period.
On September 8, HFT staking in Bybit Savings will conclude, with principals and accrued yields automatically transferred to user funding accounts. Bybit encourages early redemptions to mitigate processing delays. The decision marks a significant constraint on HFT's utility within the platform but leaves spot trading and other non-collateral functions unspecified.
