Stock perpetual futures trading volume on centralized exchanges reached $665.42 billion in August, according to WuBlockchain Data Center, a month-over-month increase of 4.6% from July's $636.19 billion. The gain reflects a slowing growth trajectory, though the August figure represents a 56.5-fold jump from January's $11.58 billion.
Three assets dominated the market: SNDK accounted for $193.58 billion in volume, followed by SKHYNIX at $75.89 billion and SPCX at $65.93 billion. These three instruments combined for half of the total trading activity across stock perpetual futures products on CEXs.
The data reveals sustained expansion in equity derivatives trading on centralized platforms since the start of the year, though the monthly growth rate has moderated from earlier periods.
