DeFi tokens climbed nearly 38% since August 17, with investors reassessing how proposed US regulatory frameworks could reshape protocol economics. The SEC's "Regulation Crypto Assets" proposal and the Senate's CLARITY Act draft may permit revenue-sharing mechanisms tied to tokens, addressing long-standing securities concerns that have prevented protocols from distributing fees directly to tokenholders. Several major protocols including Uniswap, PancakeSwap, and Jupiter have already implemented structures linking their trading revenue to token buybacks and burns, with Uniswap generating $7.18 million in protocol fees over the past 30 days.
