Economic analysis argues that blockchains enabling RWA yield attract users, venues, and transaction fees; Ethereum leads three of four RWA sectors.

Blockchains that enable tokenized real-world assets to generate yield within decentralized finance create a more economically sustainable environment across multiple participants. According to analysis, this structure benefits users through yield generation, DeFi platforms through usage-based fees, and chains themselves through transaction fees. The arrangement creates aligned incentives across the ecosystem.
Ethereum currently leads in three of four major real-world asset sectors, positioning it as the dominant chain for productive tokenized assets in DeFi. The concentration reflects the chain's existing liquidity and venue infrastructure, which enables more efficient settlement and fee capture for both protocols and users participating in RWA markets.
What remains unclear is whether this leadership will persist as competing chains improve their RWA infrastructure, which sectors are being measured, and what metrics define "leading" in each category.
