Ether.fi launches neobank upgrade with tokenized stock trading, portfolio-backed Aave loans, and programmatic ETHFI buybacks.

Ether.fi has rolled out a neobank upgrade that introduces tokenized stock trading, portfolio-backed lending through Aave, and programmatic ETHFI token buybacks. The expansion moves the platform beyond its core restaking functionality into consumer-facing financial products, with the buyback mechanism designed to create ongoing demand for its native token.
The upgrade reflects an effort to diversify Ether.fi's revenue streams and user engagement as restaking TVL has contracted significantly, falling from $12.4B to $3.3B. The neobank structure allows users to access equity markets and leverage loan services within a non-custodial application, linking these new products to token economics through the automated repurchase program.
It remains unclear how much of the buyback allocation will be drawn from platform fees, whether the Aave lending market will operate with dedicated incentives, or what user adoption metrics the platform is targeting for each new product line.
