Frax Finance to migrate frxETH and FRAX protocol-owned liquidity to Aero at launch.
DeFi & Yields ·
Frax Finance announced plans to migrate protocol-owned liquidity for frxETH and FRAX to Aero at the DEX's launch. Aero represents a cross-chain expansion of Aerodrome Finance, with Aerodrome and Velodrome merging into a unified decentralized exchange backed by the AERO governance and rewards token. The move positions Frax's stablecoin and liquid staking token within Aero's vote-escrow liquidity infrastructure.
The migration aligns Frax's protocol reserves with Aero's emerging role as a liquidity hub spanning multiple chains. Aero's economic model centers on AERO token lockers, fee-sharing mechanisms, and a buyback-and-burn "Momentum Fund" designed to sustain liquidity without relying solely on subsidy-driven incentives. By deploying capital early, Frax gains exposure to Aero's gauge system and revenue flows while supporting the DEX's initial liquidity depth.
It remains unclear what volume or timeline Frax expects from the migration, or whether other major protocols plan similar commitments to Aero at launch.
