Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon expressed support for advancing the Crypto Clarity Act, diverging from JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon and major banking trade groups who oppose the bill's stablecoin-yield provisions. Solomon told Politico the legislation would establish market structure and enable institutional participation in crypto markets, though he acknowledged the bill is imperfect. The stablecoin yield provisions at issue allow crypto firms to offer rewards on dollar-pegged tokens at rates of 3-5% APY, rates significantly higher than traditional bank savings accounts, which banking groups fear could divert deposits from traditional lenders.
