Hyperliquid released its Q2 2026 report showing accelerated adoption of real-world asset perpetuals and substantial protocol economics. RWA-backed perpetual trading accounted for 32.2% of volume by quarter-end, up from 1.8% at the start of the period, generating $213B in quarterly volume through the HIP-3 integration. The report indicates protocol-level revenue reached $169M monthly by the end of Q2, with total cumulative earnings exceeding $1B since inception and $141M returned to the ecosystem through token buybacks.
The timing of these metrics coincided with notable movement in HYPE, the protocol's native token, which appreciated 79% during the quarter to reach $76.90 per unit. This gain occurred alongside a 14% decline in Bitcoin over the same stretch, suggesting relative outperformance independent of broader market conditions.
The expansion of RWA perpetuals from a marginal share to nearly one-third of volume, paired with consistent monthly revenue extraction and capital returns, underscores the practical utility driving trading activity rather than speculative positioning alone. Outstanding questions remain around the composition of that RWA volume, retention rates into Q3, and whether the buyback program maintains its current pace.
