Ledger wallet launches crypto lending feature enabling USDC/USDT loans against cbBTC or wBTC collateral.
DeFi & Yields ·
Ledger has introduced a native crypto loan feature enabling users to borrow USDC or USDT against wrapped Bitcoin collateral while retaining custody through their hardware wallet. The offering allows eligible users to post cbBTC or wBTC directly in Ledger Wallet without liquidating their Bitcoin holdings. Private keys and transaction confirmations remain secured on the hardware device throughout the process.
The mechanism runs on Morpho's infrastructure, with Yield xyz serving as the technical provider. The integration creates a direct connection between Ledger and Morpho, eliminating intermediaries like browser extensions or external software wallets. This streamlines the user experience while preserving the security model that hardware wallet users expect.
The feature is currently rolling out to eligible users, though specifics around eligibility criteria, loan terms, interest rates, and collateral ratios have not been disclosed in available reports. It remains unclear whether this availability will expand to all Ledger users or remain restricted to a subset of the user base.
