Mastercard has integrated capabilities from BVNK, which it acquired for $1.8 billion in August, into a new platform enabling banks and enterprises to manage fiat and stablecoins through a single API. The Global Money Platform allows users to hold both currency types in linked accounts, convert between them, and spend stablecoin balances across Mastercard's merchant network and money-transfer service. Early adopters include Nuvei, Marqeta, Ontop, Beem, and Almond FinTech, with planned additions for agentic commerce and tokenized deposits support.
