Mesh and Visa have announced a partnership enabling crypto and stablecoin balances held in wallet applications to be spent directly at merchants accepting Visa payments. The collaboration makes digital assets spendable across Visa's network of more than 175 million merchant locations spanning over 200 countries and territories.
The arrangement uses Mesh's infrastructure to orchestrate transactions and convert supported balances—including crypto, stablecoins, and fiat—at the point of payment. Consumers can tap contactless terminals or complete online checkouts directly from wallet balances without selling, transferring, or preloading funds beforehand. Merchants receive standard payments and require no new hardware or changes to existing checkout workflows, as a Visa credential is provisioned behind the scenes.
The partnership addresses barriers to spending digital assets; current methods typically require consumers to cash out to a bank account first or sign up for platform-specific cards. Mesh already counts more than 200 enterprises on its network, including partnerships with platforms like Kalshi, Tools for Humanity, and Félix Pago that collectively reach hundreds of millions of users. Full details on participating wallet platforms and launch timelines remain to be disclosed.
