NEAR Protocol's fee capture mechanism has accelerated sharply, reaching 30.5 percent over the past 30 days—a roughly 2.7-fold jump from the 11.5 percent lifetime average and a substantial increase from the 17.9 percent recorded over the prior 90 days. The near.com native frontend now directs 100 percent of its fees into NEAR token buybacks, with confidential transaction volume on the platform surpassing $30 million in total value locked as of late June 2026.
The revenue acceleration stems from growing adoption of NEAR Intents, a single liquidity layer that activated its fee switch in late February 2026. Near.com alone handled roughly $209 million in swap volume over the 30 days ending June 24, 2026—approximately 10 percent of total Intents flow—while 42 percent of its swap activity now operates in confidential mode. The blended capture rate improves as a larger proportion of Intents volume migrates toward near.com and similar first-party surfaces, which collectively account for 44.9 percent of total Intents flow.
The protocol is approaching conditions for net deflation, with the threshold already being crossed on certain high-volume trading days. Institutional adoption is expanding through staking products from Bitwise, 21Shares, Virtune, and Grayscale, while additional ETF filings remain pending. Upcoming milestones include tokenized U.S. equities, expanded stablecoin transport, and new derivative offerings, positioning additional revenue pathways for the protocol.
