Ondo Finance launches tokenized U.S. Treasury fund OUSG on XRP Ledger with minting and redemption via Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin.

Ondo Finance has launched its tokenized U.S. Treasury fund, OUSG, on the XRP Ledger, with minting and redemption facilitated through Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin. The deployment represents an operational fixed-income product rather than a pilot program, marking a tangible integration between a tokenized asset and XRPL infrastructure.
The mechanics center on RLUSD serving as the settlement layer for OUSG transactions on XRPL. Minting allows new OUSG tokens to be created through RLUSD deposits, while redemption enables token holders to convert their positions back into the stablecoin. This design chains the treasury fund directly to Ripple's stablecoin rails, creating a settlement pathway for a real yield-bearing product on a public blockchain.
The extent of OUSG's adoption on XRPL and whether additional tokenized fixed-income products may follow this integration model remain to be seen. The liquidity depth, transaction volume, and institutional uptake of the instrument on the ledger have not yet been detailed.
