Payy launches Finality, a stablecoin chargeback system designed to resolve disputes without reversing blockchain transactions.

Payy has launched Finality, a dispute-resolution system for stablecoin payments that addresses a gap in current transaction infrastructure. According to the announcement, trillions of dollars move through stablecoin networks today without a mechanism for disputing individual payments, and Finality aims to provide the first enterprise-grade solution that settles disputes without reversing underlying blockchain transactions.
The system works by allowing senders to establish a configurable clawback window when initiating a payment. Recipients access funds immediately while liquidity providers guarantee the payment during that protection period. If a dispute emerges—whether from fraud, human error, or commercial disagreement—the sender submits supporting evidence for review by a neutral arbitrator. An approved claim triggers a clawback that recovers the protected amount without undoing the original on-chain transaction, preserving stablecoin settlement speed while introducing reversibility for legitimate exceptions.
Payy is currently seeking participation from payment providers, liquidity providers, and arbitrators to refine the network design before wider deployment. The mechanics of arbitrator selection, evidence standards, and loss allocation across stakeholders remain to be detailed as the platform develops.
