Qapture launches on-chain safe haven vault offering institutional stablecoin yield.

Qapture has launched an on-chain vault designed to offer institutional investors yield on stablecoins. The product positions itself as a "safe haven" option within the emerging stablecoin yield ecosystem, which has become central to debates over how dollar-pegged tokens can generate returns while maintaining stability.
Stablecoin yield originates from multiple mechanisms: treasury bill holdings and money-market instruments, lending protocols, liquidity provision on automated market makers, and protocol incentives. Most yield-bearing stablecoins combine two or more of these sources, though headline returns often include time-limited governance-token rewards that inflate the stated APY. The challenge underlying all such products is the fundamental tension between a stablecoin's core value proposition—stability—and the introduction of risk that accompanies deploying capital to generate returns.
The regulatory and market environment remains unsettled. US senators have scrutinized stablecoin yield programs over concerns they could replicate bank deposit behavior and trigger deposit flight from community banks. Legislative efforts, including the CLARITY Act, have grappled with how to distinguish between passive yield and activity rewards, leaving the policy framework incomplete as of early 2026. Institutional appetite, as evidenced by recent product launches from established players, suggests demand persists despite these uncertainties.
