Rain launches global stablecoin payouts in 50 currencies across 80+ countries.
DeFi & Yields ·
Rain has expanded its stablecoin payout infrastructure to support transfers in 50 currencies across more than 80 countries, with the service now live for select beta partners. The platform enables businesses and consumers to send money internationally by converting stablecoins into local currency for direct deposit into recipient bank accounts, eliminating the need for recipients to handle or understand cryptocurrency.
The mechanics rely on a single USDC balance that partners maintain to cover all supported destinations, replacing the traditional requirement to prefund accounts in each local currency market. Before initiating a transfer, senders receive a locked exchange rate and see the exact amount the recipient will receive, with status updates flowing back through Rain's API at each step. This consolidates what has historically required integrating multiple providers and managing separate banking relationships per market.
Rain plans to expand further, targeting 95 countries and 60 currencies by year-end, though broader availability beyond current beta partners remains forthcoming. The platform aims to serve neobanks, marketplaces, contractor platforms, and businesses making supplier payments, though the extent of adoption among these use cases is not yet detailed.
