Robinhood takes equity stakes in OG.com and Crypto.com for prediction markets
DeFi & Yields ·
Robinhood is building out prediction-markets infrastructure ahead of NFL season by taking equity positions in two exchange partners rather than building the engine itself.
Robinhood has partnered with OG.com to supply prediction-markets infrastructure and has taken an equity stake in the exchange engine that will power the offering. The same expansion includes a parallel deal with Crypto.com, which Robinhood has also taken an equity stake in and designated as an infrastructure partner for its prediction-markets push, according to theblock.co.
The timing is tied to the NFL season, with the two partnerships arriving as Robinhood widens its prediction-markets footprint before the schedule begins, per the same report. Rather than operate a single in-house venue, Robinhood is stitching together exchange capacity from external partners while holding an ownership position in each, a structure that ties its financial upside to the performance of the underlying engines it does not fully control.
The Crypto.com side of the arrangement is corroborated separately, with decrypt.co confirming that Robinhood took an equity stake in Crypto.com alongside the infrastructure designation. Three distinct sources are tracking the cluster of announcements, indicating the OG.com and Crypto.com moves are being reported as connected parts of the same expansion rather than isolated deals.
Neither the size of the equity stakes nor the commercial terms of the OG.com or Crypto.com agreements have been disclosed in the material available. It is also not yet specified how order flow, liquidity, or settlement responsibilities will be divided between the two exchange partners once NFL-related contracts go live, or whether additional infrastructure partners will be added before the season starts.
