Moscow Exchange, Russia's largest stock exchange, is introducing perpetual futures contracts tied to five major cryptocurrencies on September 22, expanding its existing crypto derivatives offering. The new products will track Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and Tron indices, priced in U.S. dollars but settled in Russian rubles without physical asset delivery. Access is restricted to qualified investors only, as reported by WuBlockchain.
The launch builds on prior momentum in MOEX's crypto futures segment. Since introducing its initial crypto-linked products last summer, the exchange has attracted more than 72,000 qualified investors and accumulated trading volume surpassing RUB 600 billion, according to MOEX's disclosure. These metrics demonstrate sustained institutional demand for regulated crypto derivative exposure within Russia.
The announcement does not specify whether additional cryptocurrencies or contract types may follow, nor does it clarify any modifications to existing eligibility criteria or trading mechanics for the new perpetual instruments.
