Sentora opens three curated lending markets on Aave V4
DeFi & Yields ·
An institutional risk platform has rolled out independently managed borrowing markets on Aave's newest version, expanding how stablecoins can be borrowed against yield-bearing collateral.
Sentora has gone live with the first externally curated markets built on Aave V4, according to an Aave blog post. The setup gives users three separate markets on Ethereum where they can draw RLUSD, PYUSD, or OUSD against a mix of yield-generating and established collateral types. Sentora designs the risk parameters for these markets while the underlying code remains identical to the rest of the Aave V4 system.
The arrangement is possible because of V4's Hub and Spoke structure, in which central Liquidity Hubs hold deposited funds while separate Spokes function as individual markets, each carrying its own collateral choices and risk settings. This design allows outside risk managers such as Sentora to operate their own Hub and define market terms without needing to build separate infrastructure, since they rely on Aave's existing audited base layer.
Governance guardrails still apply to these externally run markets. Aave DAO keeps control over the contracts, any change that increases risk must clear a 48-hour timelock, and new collateral assets require governance approval before being added to a market.
Concretely, Sentora's Ethereum Hub currently runs three markets: an RLUSD Yield market and an OUSD Yield market, both allowing borrowing against USDe, PRIME, mWIN, and PST, plus a Bluechip market where RLUSD, PYUSD, or OUSD can be borrowed against kBTC. Sentora itself is described as an institutional DeFi platform combining strategy construction, risk oversight, and coverage, having allocated over $2 billion into onchain strategies with more than 1,000 risk models embedded across them. Access to these markets is currently limited to Aave Pro.
What remains unclear is how borrowing volumes or utilization rates will develop across these new markets, and whether additional external curators will follow Sentora in launching their own Hubs on V4.
