Solana spot DEX trades surpassed NYSE weekly volume for the first time, reaching 208 million trades vs. NYSE's 190 million, driven by Jupiter's 80M monthly trades.

In the week ending September 13th, Solana's decentralized exchanges recorded approximately 208 million spot trades, exceeding the New York Stock Exchange's weekly volume of roughly 190 million trades for the first time. The milestone reflects individual onchain token swaps executed across Solana-based DEXs. Jupiter, a trading platform on Solana, has driven much of this activity, processing over 80 million trades in the month and recording 38 percent month-over-month growth.
The expansion underscores a broader surge in Solana trading volumes. The gap between Solana DEX trades and Nasdaq volumes has narrowed to approximately 47 million trades, the smallest recorded spread. Since July lows, weekly spot DEX trade volumes on Solana have climbed 185 percent, marking a substantial acceleration in onchain trading intensity.
The comparison between onchain spot swap counts and traditional exchange trade volumes reflects different market structures and trade definitions. Whether this metric indicates comparable market depth, liquidity, or economic activity across the two ecosystems remains a question for further examination.
