Soneium integrates ipUSD stablecoin and IP Vault offering exposure to $549M royalties fund.
DeFi & Yields ·
Soneium, the Ethereum layer-2 network backed by Sony Group and Startale, has integrated ipUSD stablecoin and launched an IP Vault offering exposure to a $549M royalties fund. The IP Vault structure allows users to gain participation in intellectual-property-backed revenue streams, expanding the platform's financial infrastructure beyond its existing Startale USD (USDSC) stablecoin and Soneium Score incentive layer.
The integration represents an expansion of Soneium's product ecosystem, which positions the network as infrastructure for onchain entertainment, creator economies, and decentralized finance. The royalties fund mechanism adds a direct bridge between traditional entertainment IP and onchain finance, enabling holders to capture returns from Sony's content and licensing business. The mechanism by which ipUSD maintains its peg, the governance structure of the royalties fund, and whether additional entertainment partnerships will follow remain undisclosed.
