XRP futures trading volume reached its highest point in six months during August, with Binance accounting for $37 billion of the $64.6 billion total volume across major exchanges including Bybit and OKX. The surge coincided with a nearly 30% monthly price increase for XRP, while spot trading similarly climbed to levels not seen since February.
Inflows into XRP-linked exchange-traded funds showed a mixed picture. After eight consecutive weeks of positive inflows, the momentum shifted noticeably downward, with weekly inflows dropping from over $110 million to approximately $19 million in the most recent period.
The slowdown in ETF inflows despite heightened futures and spot activity leaves open whether the pullback signals a temporary consolidation or a potential shift in institutional appetite for XRP products.
