Coinbase adds Grvt token support, deposits pending

Coinbase will support GRVT, with trading rollout occurring in phases across multiple platforms before reaching Coinbase's retail app.
Coinbase confirmed it will begin supporting Grvt (GRVT), according to a post from Coinbase Markets. Users can already generate a deposit address for the token through coinbase.com, the Coinbase mobile app, and Coinbase Exchange, though only in regions where trading is permitted. Actual deposits remain unavailable until the token's issuer enables transfer functionality.
The broader rollout schedule places Coinbase toward the back of the line. Trading opened first on Bybit, Bitget, and KuCoin starting July 30th at 14:00 UTC, with Coinbase support arriving afterward. This staggered sequencing means the asset was live on several exchanges before becoming accessible to Coinbase users.
GRVT itself is described as a regulated, self-custodial decentralized exchange, with user funds secured through blockchain-based smart contracts rather than centralized custody. Pricing ahead of full listing showed the token trading at 0.336 dollars, translating to a fully diluted valuation near 336 million dollars.
One detail drawing attention is the separation between Coinbase Exchange and the standard retail app in this initial phase. That sequencing has been read as a signal that institutional access is being prioritized ahead of broader retail availability, though Coinbase has not stated this as an explicit strategy.
