Infosys and Chainlink team up on institutional onchain finance
Ecosystem ·
Infosys has partnered with Chainlink to accelerate institutional adoption of onchain finance and standardize use of Chainlink's infrastructure, according to an announcement from Chainlink.
The partnership adds Infosys to a widening roster of enterprise and financial-sector deals built around Chainlink's oracle and cross-chain infrastructure, which already powers more than 70% of DeFi protocols by connecting smart contracts to real-world data. Chainlink's network works by having independent node operators retrieve and aggregate external information — prices, reserves, financial messaging — and deliver a consensus answer onchain, with node operators staking LINK tokens to back the reliability of that data. That architecture, built to resist the kind of single-source manipulation that drained lending protocols during the 2020 DeFi boom, is what Chainlink is now pitching to institutions moving traditional finance functions onchain, a broader profile of the network detailed at Chainlink, Explained.
The Infosys deal lands amid a run of similar institutional tie-ups. Pharos Network recently raised $44 million in a Series A backed in part by Chainlink to build infrastructure bridging TradFi and DeFi. SIX Group has tapped Chainlink's DataLink product to bring Swiss and Spanish equity data onchain, and AWS has open-sourced an architecture linking SWIFT's ISO 20022 financial messaging standard to onchain settlement via Chainlink. Separately, Chainlink and banking partners have been applying AI and decentralized oracles to automate and verify corporate actions data, addressing what is described as a $58 billion inefficiency in that process.
Chainlink's own balance sheet has also been growing alongside this institutional push: its reserve recently added 131,656 LINK, worth more than $1.1 million, pushing total holdings above 3 million LINK and placing it among the network's top-35 token holders, accumulated from enterprise and onchain revenue.
What remains unspecified is the scope of the Infosys arrangement itself — no financial terms, timeline, or specific product integrations have been detailed beyond the stated goal of accelerating institutional onchain finance and standardizing adoption of Chainlink's infrastructure. It is also not yet clear which Infosys business lines or client relationships the partnership will touch first, or how it will interact with the parallel enterprise deals Chainlink has struck with Pharos Network, SIX Group, and AWS. Further detail on implementation would clarify how directly this translates into new onchain activity.
