Bitcoin MVRV ratio at 5th percentile suggests historically undervalued levels and potential long-term accumulation opportunity.
Macro & Markets ·
Bitcoin's Market Value to Realized Value ratio has declined to the 5th percentile of its historical range, according to analysis by CryptoQuant researcher Darkfost. This positioning means that in 95% of historical periods, the metric—which tracks the relationship between Bitcoin's market capitalization and the price at which each unit last transacted—has registered higher values than today. The current reading places Bitcoin in what analysts characterize as a historically depressed valuation zone.
The MVRV percentile method ranks present levels against the full historical dataset rather than comparing raw figures alone. Similar extremes appeared in February when BTC dipped below $60,000 and again since June. Past occurrences of such low-percentile readings have tended to coincide with long-term price bottoms, though this pattern offers no guarantee of imminent recovery timing.
The persistence of this metric at extreme lows over multiple months leaves open whether accumulation conditions will extend further, whether a sustained rebound has begun, or how quickly price discovery might follow from these valuations. The indicator reflects investor cost basis relative to market price but does not itself predict near-term directional moves.
