Bitcoin pullback to $63,000 shows constructive on-chain signals as large holders accumulate 20,000 BTC and institutions move holdings off exchanges.
Macro & Markets ·
Bitcoin fell 3% over 24 hours and briefly touched $63,000, yet larger holders continued adding to their positions. Wallets holding between 10 and 10,000 BTC accumulated approximately 19,696 units over eight days, while smaller retail wallets showed weaker buying activity during dips. Bitcoin ETFs recorded inflows exceeding $222 million in July, and analytics data suggests supply is shifting toward stronger hands.
Exchange reserves have declined by around 78,000 BTC over six months, falling from 2.783 million to 2.705 million units. Rather than depositing Bitcoin to exchanges for sale during the recent correction, investors moved holdings into self-custody—a pattern typically associated with long-term accumulation rather than distribution. Institutional-scale wallets also withdrew 6,765 BTC from Binance in a coordinated move, valued at approximately $441.34 million, transferring the holdings to private cold storage.
Analysts characterize the current setup as constructive, though near-term recovery timing remains unclear. Bitcoin is described as in a consolidation phase that has lasted 30 days, compared to a typical 40-day window observed in prior cycles. The sustainability of the bottom signal and demand conditions will determine whether reduced exchange supply translates into amplified gains or whether rising netflows signal renewed selling pressure.
