China's economic slowdown broadened in July, with industrial production growth moderating to 4.5% year-over-year while retail sales grew just 0.6%, marking the third-lowest reading in at least 18 months. Passenger vehicle purchases fell 21.0% year-over-year, and real estate investment collapsed 19.2% year-over-year in the first seven months of 2026, described as the largest drop on record.
