Crypto ETFs snap eight-week outflow streak with $281.8M inflow
Macro & Markets ·
US spot Bitcoin and Ethereum funds recorded their first weekly net inflows since early May, halting a run of withdrawals that had drained more than $7 billion from the sector.
Crypto ETFs took in $281.8 million last week, split between $197.4 million into Bitcoin funds and $84.4 million into Ethereum funds, according to Decrypt. The figures mark the first positive week since the second week of May, ending an eight-week stretch of continuous outflows.
The reversal follows a period in which trailing 12-month inflows for crypto ETFs fell to $1 billion, down sharply from $10 billion in late April and well below the $12 billion peak reached in October 2025. That decline reflects the scale of the outflow run that preceded last week's turnaround, even as the fresh inflows remain modest relative to the totals withdrawn over the prior two months.
The move was corroborated across separate tallies: one count put spot BTC ETF inflows at $197 million for the week, describing it as the first weekly positive inflow in eight weeks, while another source cited the same $197 million Bitcoin figure alongside $84.42 million for Ethereum funds, noting both products had broken eight-week outflow streaks, a detail also reflected in reporting from wublockchain.xyz.
What remains unclear is whether the inflow marks a durable shift in institutional positioning or a single-week pause within a longer period of caution. The gap between the current $1 billion trailing 12-month figure and the $12 billion October peak underscores how much ground flows would need to recover before matching earlier demand levels. Whether subsequent weeks extend the positive trend, and whether Ethereum funds sustain pace with Bitcoin funds, are the next data points to watch as the sector tests whether buyers are returning in a sustained way.
