Ethereum exchange reserves hit their lowest level in a decade at 14.5M ETH, with Binance reserves down 37.1%, while US spot ETF outflows reached $1.61B in October.

Ethereum's reserves on tracked exchanges have fallen to approximately 14.5 million ETH as of early November, marking the lowest level since 2016 and representing a decline of roughly 58.6% from the 2020 peak of 35 million ETH. Binance, the largest holder, has seen its reserves drop to 3.08 million ETH, a 37.1% reduction from its 2025 peak and now representing about 21.2% of total exchange reserves across all tracked platforms.
The contraction in readily available supply reflects a potential tightening of spot ETH liquidity. According to CryptoQuant analysis, lower exchange reserves could reduce selling pressure and create conditions favorable to price appreciation if buying demand increases, though the mechanics of supply scarcity alone do not guarantee upward movement. Simultaneously, institutional investors have been withdrawing from US spot Ethereum ETFs at an accelerated pace, with outflows reaching $1.61 billion in October—the worst month since these products launched—and an additional $139.8 million withdrawn on November 2nd.
The divergence between tightening on-exchange supply and persistent institutional selling raises questions about which force may dominate price discovery. Whether the reduced spot supply can absorb renewed retail or institutional buying interest, or whether outflow momentum continues, remains unresolved in the near term.
