Tether accumulated 14 tonnes of gold during the second quarter of 2026, raising its total holdings to 146 tonnes valued at approximately $18.8 billion. The company purchased 53 tonnes between the third quarter of 2025 and first quarter of 2026, more than doubling its gold reserves since the start of 2025. Tether is now the largest known private holder of gold outside central banks and governments, with only Poland, Uzbekistan, China, and Kazakhstan purchasing more gold than the company during the first half of 2026.
