US investment-grade corporate bond funds experienced outflows of $7.1 billion during the most recent week, marking the heaviest weekly redemptions since 2020, with Monday alone seeing $8.2 billion withdrawn—the largest single day in over six years. The exodus eclipsed 2022's peak weekly outflows of $6.5 billion and coincided with rising oil prices stoking inflation concerns and technology sector warnings of accelerated capital expenditure. The LQD investment-grade corporate bond ETF has fallen 2.8% since June 30 and is down 1.4% year-to-date, reaching near its lowest point since September 2025.
