On September 24, Bitget CEO Gracy Chen characterized the FTX collapse as a significant industry lesson, stating her view that major exchanges would not intentionally commingle customer funds in today's environment. The exchange maintains a publicly verifiable protection fund of approximately $460 million and holds more than $1 billion in company-owned assets kept separate from customer deposits. Bitget backs user holdings on a 1:1 basis, with verification available through proof-of-reserves mechanisms and Merkle Tree data, according to the CEO's statement.
