Coinbase launches a tokenization hub in Abu Dhabi with regulatory approval from the FSRA.
Regulation & Gov ·
Coinbase has established a tokenization hub in Abu Dhabi's financial district and obtained an FSRA license to operate in the United Arab Emirates. The newly acquired regulatory approval enables the exchange to bring global securities to anyone with a wallet, according to the company's announcement.
The move positions the platform to expand digital asset infrastructure in the Middle East region. By establishing operations in Abu Dhabi's Global Market (ADGM), Coinbase gains a foothold in a jurisdiction that has grown more welcoming to crypto and blockchain services, while the FSRA license provides the legal foundation for offering tokenized securities on-chain.
The full scope of services Coinbase plans to launch through the hub and any timeline for rolling out tokenized securities offerings remain to be detailed. It is also unclear whether additional regulatory approvals from other jurisdictions will be sought to support the broader distribution of these products globally.
