Defend American Jobs, the political arm of crypto-backed Fairshake, has disclosed an additional $7 million in advertising expenditures opposing Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown, raising its cumulative spending against him to approximately $46.66 million, according to a Federal Election Commission filing. The combined outlays make Brown the costliest political target for the cryptocurrency industry in the 2026 election cycle. Brown previously chaired the Senate Banking Committee before his 2024 defeat, an election in which Fairshake invested roughly $40 million.
The intensified push against Brown coincides with Fairshake's expansion into House contests. On October 5, the PAC network announced backing for 32 House incumbents—19 Republicans and 13 Democrats—and allocated an initial $6 million across six of them, committing $1 million to each. All 32 representatives previously voted to advance the Clarity Act when it cleared the House in July 2025. The organization framed itself as supporting pro-crypto candidates across both parties.
The sustained Senate campaign against Brown remains notable for its scale relative to Fairshake's other spending, underscoring the industry's priority in preventing his potential return to the Banking Committee. Whether this House expansion signals a permanent shift in Fairshake's strategy or represents secondary emphasis compared to the Senate race remains unclear.
