Ripple partners with Meritz Securities to develop digital asset custody and tokenization infrastructure in South Korea's regulated capital markets.

Meritz Securities has entered into a partnership with Ripple to build digital asset infrastructure across South Korea's capital markets, with an emphasis on custody and tokenization capabilities. The agreement was finalized on October 1 and is structured to integrate Ripple's technology into the brokerage's operations while remaining compliant with South Korea's current regulatory framework.
The collaboration reflects Ripple's broader push into the region. The company has previously worked with K Bank and Kyobo Life Insurance in South Korea, and is simultaneously deepening its institutional footprint in other markets, including Brazil. The timing aligns with South Korea's regulatory landscape shifting toward formal recognition of digital assets in regulated financial sectors.
What remains unclear is whether the custody and tokenization systems will be deployed immediately or undergo a phased rollout, and whether additional South Korean financial institutions are in talks with Ripple for similar arrangements.
