Tally, a DAO governance platform, is shutting down after regulatory pressures under the current administration.

Tally, a DAO governance platform, is shutting down after canceling its planned ICO. In a statement, the company concluded that DAO governance tooling is not a viable venture-backed business despite the scale it had reached. Over its operating period, Tally facilitated more than $1B in payments and secured $80B in on-chain value.
The shutdown comes amid what the platform's leadership attributed to regulatory pressures. The timing reflects broader challenges facing infrastructure businesses in the crypto sector, where user adoption and transaction volume alone have not proven sufficient to support venture-backed models in the current environment.
The closure leaves open questions about the sustainability of governance-focused tooling as a standalone business line. Whether other DAO infrastructure platforms will face similar pressures, or whether alternative funding or business models might revive such services, remains unclear.
