World Liberty Financial proposes governance incentive program rewarding WLFI holders who lock tokens for 180+ days and vote quarterly, with a 5% voting-power cap.
Regulation & Gov ·
World Liberty Financial has initiated a vote on a governance engagement incentive program designed to reward WLFI token holders who commit their holdings through a 180-day lock and participate in voting every 90 days. The scheme targets an October 1 launch and draws funding from a dynamic pool supplied by ecosystem revenue streams, including fees generated by World Liberty Markets and Dolomite. A 5% cap on voting-power concentration prevents any single locked position from controlling governance outcomes, while all WLFI holders retain their voting rights regardless of participation in the lock mechanism.
The rewards structure adjusts based on adoption rates—early participants in lower-volume periods could receive proportionally larger shares from the pool, which refreshes every two weeks. Governance proposals must occur at minimum quarterly to maintain holder eligibility. Reception on community forums and social platforms has been largely positive, with participants framing the mechanism as an incentive for genuine engagement rather than passive token holding.
The proposal arrives amid separate litigation involving Justin Sun over frozen tokens and governance authority, with recent court rulings maintaining the dispute in active proceedings. Token market performance has remained subdued, trading near $0.060 and down over 70% from a year prior, having touched fresh lows around $0.048 within days of the announcement. Whether the incentive structure will reverse participation or price momentum remains unclear.
