LienFi launches onchain yield marketplace for U.S. property tax liens and deeds on Base, offering defined-term yields and secondary trading.
RWA & Tokenization ·
LienFi has launched an onchain yield marketplace on Base that tokenizes U.S. property tax liens and tax deeds, pairing them with defined-term yields and property-linked collateral. The platform issues tokenized positions with transparent redemption mechanics and jurisdiction-specific terms reflected onchain, alongside a 24/7 secondary market for trading these assets. The associated token is $LFI.
The mechanics rely on qualified sellers submitting lien certificates and tax deeds to LienFi for review and custody, after which each position is listed onchain with property-level metadata accessible through the platform interface and token contracts. Holders retain trading flexibility until positions are redeemed, foreclosed, or resolved under applicable law. In certain cases, real estate outcomes may generate upside beyond expected redemption value. Custody and servicing are provided by Cat 5 Partners, LLC and LienFi Custody Services, LLC.
Early access sign-ups have closed, with rollout proceeding in phases via email notification to approved users. The platform operates under Real-World Assets on Base, established in 2026. The extent of regulatory approvals, compliance with state-specific property lien laws across jurisdictions, and demand from institutional or retail participants remain unspecified.
