Nine blue-chip companies have publicly rejected tokenized stocks, signaling potential headwinds for the emerging RWA tokenization market.

Nine major companies including Verizon, Broadcom, and UnitedHealth have objected to their shares trading on OKXICE, a tokenized stock venue operated by OKX and ICE, representing 14% of the 63 companies the platform planned to list. The rejections highlight a regulatory blind spot: while the SEC's Innovation Exemption permits tokenized stock trading without exchange registration, it does not guarantee company participation, and issuers can opt out of venues lacking best-execution protections and real-time price reporting. Platforms including Robinhood, Kraken, and Backed Finance that depend on a growing roster of tokenizable equities face immediate headwinds, and the trend could expand if more corporations follow suit.
