Arkham intelligence identifies $5.88B in crypto held across hacker-linked addresses from Binance breach; $2.54B confirmed frozen by exchange.

Blockchain intelligence firm Arkham has identified 66 addresses tied to the label "binance-hacker-1029" that collectively hold roughly $5.88 billion in cryptocurrency assets. The holdings include 1.768 billion USDT, 18,270 BTC (valued at $1.44 billion), 466,622 ETH ($1.06 billion), 824.56 million USDC, and other digital tokens. Binance has previously stated that $2.54 billion connected to the breach has been frozen, with potential for that figure to grow as recovery work proceeds.
The key distinction lies in what the figures represent. The $5.88 billion reflects the current value of tokens residing in those addresses rather than a confirmed theft amount. The $2.54 billion reflects assets that Binance has managed to immobilize through its response efforts.
What remains uncertain is the actual total stolen during the original incident, how the $5.88 billion in tracked holdings relates to the full scope of assets moved, and the timeline for additional recoveries beyond the $2.54 billion already frozen.
