Kite.foundation suffered a coordinated private key compromise draining ~133.4M KITE across 16 wallets on Ethereum; foundation paused transfers and is planning token migration.
Security & Exploits ·
Approximately 133.4 million KITE tokens were transferred out of 16 wallets on Ethereum on August 5, 2026 at 16:37 UTC in what appears to be a coordinated private key compromise. Each transfer used identical gas settings and was signed by the holder's own key in a single block, with the largest drain removing 24.7 million KITE. The Kite Foundation halted all Ethereum KITE transfers about four hours after the incident, immobilizing the stolen funds at attacker addresses, and is preparing a token migration with new allocations.
