Ledger hardware wallet suspected of $86M drain via supply-chain implant; company halts sales across seven Asian markets and major European retailers.

Ledger has suspended sales of its hardware wallets across six Southeast Asian countries and Hong Kong after devices were found fitted with hidden implants that steal recovery phrases during setup. According to Ledger, confirmed thefts remain limited to Southeast Asia and involve devices sold through CryptoBilis, a regional reseller, though onchain investigator Specter has traced over $86 million in suspected losses that the company has not independently verified. Major European retailer MediaMarkt Saturn also halted Ledger sales after a customer in Germany discovered an implant, though no funds were lost in that case. Ledger said its own infrastructure and direct sales channels show no signs of compromise as it investigates the tampering point in the distribution chain.
