Rocket Network exploited for $287K; deposits, withdrawals, and trading paused while team investigates.
Security & Exploits ·
Rocket Network halted deposits, withdrawals, and trading following a security incident on September 5, 2026, in which an attacker exploited a dormant perpetual market to extract approximately $287K. The attacker used a burner account to place inflated-price orders and trade against themselves, generating false profits in one account while concentrating losses in another, then withdrew the funds via bridge. The team is coordinating with security firms, law enforcement, and financial infrastructure partners to trace and recover the stolen assets, while planning refunds beginning with affected users holding smaller balances.
