World launches fully on-chain prediction market on Solana, live in Phantom
Security & Exploits ·
A previously unidentified Solana project called World has been revealed as a fully on-chain prediction market, now live inside the Phantom wallet and at world.xyz.
The platform, previously known only by teasers and speculation, was confirmed as a prediction market built on Solana, according to Coindesk. World uses Chainlink as its primary oracle infrastructure, feeding external market data on-chain to settle bets. Because the entire system runs on-chain, trades and outcomes are recorded directly on Solana rather than through an off-chain intermediary layer, a structure the report describes as central to how the product resolves markets.
Its integration directly inside Phantom, one of the wallets used to interact with Solana, means users can access prediction markets without leaving the wallet interface, according to the same report. The listing at world.xyz functions as a separate access point to the same underlying markets. The reliance on Chainlink oracles is presented as the mechanism enabling near-instant settlement once a market's outcome is determined, removing manual reporting steps that slower resolution systems require.
The launch lands alongside other Solana-related developments this period. Forward Industries, described as a Solana treasury firm, added 500,000 SOL, valued near $38 million, expanding its total holdings to 7.55 million SOL. That expansion reportedly pushed the company's SOL stack above the combined total of the next three largest publicly traded Solana treasury companies, and its stock rose 17% following the disclosure. While unrelated in mechanics, both threads point to concentrated activity around Solana infrastructure and treasury accumulation in the same stretch of time.
What remains unclear from the available reporting is the scale of usage World has attracted since going live, including trading volume, number of active markets, or user counts within Phantom. The report also does not specify whether additional oracle providers beyond Chainlink are planned, or how disputes over market outcomes are handled if oracle data is delayed or contested. Coverage of the Forward Industries treasury increase likewise does not indicate whether further additions are planned or how the firm's holdings compare across a longer historical window. Distinct outlets have covered the World launch and the Forward Industries treasury move as parallel but separate stories, with no confirmed link between the two beyond their shared Solana base.
