Trezor reports a hardware wallet sold by third-party retailer Cryptobilis contained a physical implant.
Security & Exploits ·
Trezor's security team received a report of a hardware implant in a Trezor Safe 5 device purchased from reseller CryptoBilis in August 2026, according to https://trezor.io/blog/news/implant-reported-in-a-trezor-sold-by-cryptobilis. The implant, which the team is treating as credible despite not yet having examined the device, appears similar to those discovered in Ledger devices sold by the same reseller following a supply chain attack. Trezor has advised customers who bought from CryptoBilis starting in March 2026 to immediately transfer funds to newly created wallets with fresh seeds, and no funds have been reported stolen so far.
