Warp.green bridge exploited for $93K via vulnerability in Chia-side ERC20 bridge; team confirms no further malicious activity.
Security & Exploits ·
Warp.green, a bridge connecting Chia and Ethereum networks, suffered an exploit resulting in $93,000 in losses. The vulnerability was isolated to the Chia-side component of the ERC20 bridge, and the team confirmed no additional malicious transactions occurred beyond the initial incident. The stolen funds comprised 85,000 wUSDC.b and 8,000 wUSDC, which the attacker converted to ETH and currently holds in an Ethereum wallet.
The bridge protocol has been paused following the exploit. Warp.green is working with validators, partners, and volunteers to determine next steps and plans to publish a full postmortem for the community. The CAT bridge, which secures assets including wXCH, has not been affected by the vulnerability.
The scope of the damage is confirmed at the disclosed amount, but details on how the attacker gained access to the Chia-side component and the timeline for resuming operations remain unclear. The team has not yet announced when bridge functionality will be restored or provided specifics on the security measures that will prevent similar exploitation in the future.
